On March 23, 2009, BI-LO LLC and nine affiliates filed voluntary chapter 11 bankruptcy petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina. The companies, headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, operate over 200 supermarkets in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Indalex Holdings Finance Files for Bankruptcy in Delaware

On March 20, 2009, Indalex Holdings Finance, Inc. and four affiliates filed voluntary chapter 11 bankruptcy petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The companies, which are headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois, are primarily owned by affiliates of Sun Capital Partners.

Transmeridian Exploration Files for Bankruptcy in Texas

On March 20, 2009, Transmeridian Exploration Inc. and two affiliates filed voluntary chapter 11 bankruptcy petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. Transmeridian Exploration is based in Houston, Texas and reported assets of $378 million and liabilities of $452 million (both as of September 30, 2008).
